JERSEY CITY, NJ – Saint Peter’s College men’s basketball head coach John Dunne has announced that Blaise Ffrench (Queens, NY) will transfer from the University of Texas - El Paso and attend Saint Peter's College this fall. Ffrench will sit out the 2009-10 season to fulfill NCAA transfer requirements and is expected to play basketball for the Peacocks beginning in the 2010-11 season.
"We are excited to have Blaise joining our program," Coach Dunne commented. "His all-around talent at the guard position as well as his experience at being part of a winning program in high school will be a tremendous asset for us."
French is a 6-1 guard who graduated from Holy Cross High School in Queens in 2008. In his senior year, Ffrench averaged 14.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 7.4 assists and 1.6 steals and helped the Crusaders to their first CHSAA Class AA intersectional title in 40 years. At UTEP this past season, Ffrench played in 26 games, but averaged just 4.7 minutes per game, scoring eight points.
